DOCTOR #2

I looked at my never used insurance card and on it was MY personal care physician ( whom I had never met).Hooray, maybe I can see a real doctor. It was June 4th, 2007. I called to make an appointment and thank goodness she was on maternity leave because her replacement was a doctor whom I have come to appreciate and trust even though it started out kind of rocky. Dr. Lisa Splittstoesser ( we'll call her Dr. Lisa from here on out) saw me that day and decided that instead of Bronchitis, I had Pneumonia. Okay... still strange to me after being healthy all these years. But, again just wanting these bad feelings to go away, I followed her orders. She prescribed Levaquin and said I should feel better within 2-3 days. She also had the foresight to run some standard blood tests and order a chest x-ray.(probably should have been done by quackadoodle #1 so no extra points for that). The next day she called to tell me my liver enzymes were high which could be from being ill, HMMM...or from the wine that I so generously liked to consume HMMM...She also said my xray showed Atelectasis. I KNOW! Try googling that one. Apparently, the bottom of my lungs were collapsed. I think she used the word 'slightly', but trust me, When you hear that kind of stuff...She was still sticking with the Pneumonia theory and advised me to "try and take deep breaths". I started to have some vision problems at this point and was convinced they were poisoning me with pills. Exactly 2 days went by before I called BULLSHIT. Back to the hospital I went. I could tell by the look on her face that she was concerned the meds were having no effect on me. My mom (yes, I said MY MOM) wasn't leaving there without answers and she was like a dog with a bone. I was just along for the ride. My Dad had been diagnosed with Parkinsons 3 months earlier so she was primed, locked, and loaded to deal with the Doctors. Dr. Lisa wanted me to go see the Infectious Disease Specialist and that's when all hell broke loose in my mind...
